PinnacleLife is committed to making evidence-based health journalism accessible to everyone, including people who use assistive technologies. We aim to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, and we treat accessibility as an ongoing part of how we build and edit the Site.
What we do
- Semantic, structured pages. We use proper headings, landmarks, and lists so screen-reader users can navigate quickly, and we provide a "skip to content" link at the top of every page.
- Keyboard access. Navigation, menus, search, and the newsletter form are operable with a keyboard, with visible focus styles.
- Readable design. We use generous type, a measured reading width, and a color palette chosen for strong contrast between text and background.
- Descriptive images. Meaningful images include alternative text; purely decorative images are marked so assistive technology can skip them.
- Respect for your preferences. Motion is kept subtle and honors the "reduce motion" setting in your operating system.
- Listen instead of read. We are rolling out natural-voice audio narration of our articles, so you can listen rather than read.
- Responsive layouts. The Site adapts to your screen size and supports zooming and text reflow without loss of content.
Conformance status
We consider the Site to be substantially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA — most of the Site meets the standard while we continue to address specific areas. Accessibility is not a one-time project: as we publish new content and add features, we keep reviewing and improving.
Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some limitations may remain. For example, a small amount of older content may have imperfect alternative text, and some embedded third-party material may not be fully accessible. We are actively working to identify and resolve these issues.
